Baruch Spinoza (1632-1677) var köpmannasonen, linssliparen och fritänkaren i Amsterdam som genom sina etiska, politiska, teologiska och metafysiska skrifter kom att förvandla den europeiska filosofin. Hans radikalitet satte igång en rörelse som fortfarande genljuder, genom ständigt nya omläsningar av hans verk. Under en kväll belyses och diskuteras hans roll som förgrundsgestalt inom det moderna tänkande, med föredrag av ledande experter på hans filosofi, varvat med samtal och musik.

Professor. em. Princeton Advanced Institute. Författare till Radical Enlightenment (2001), som lokaliserar 16-talets Holland och Spinoza i hjärtat av den europeiska upplysningen; Enlightenment Contested (2006), och Democratic Enlightenment (2011), en monumental trilogi över den radikala upplysningens historia.
Yizhak Melamed, Israel
Professor i filosophy vid Johns Hopkins universitet, ledande forskare om Spinoza och hans förhållande till modern filosofi. Har redigerat Blackwell Companion to Spinoza (2021), och skrivit Spinoza’s Metaphysics: Substance and Thought (2013), och Spinoza’s Ethics: A Critical Guide (2017).
Följs av en paneldiskussion som leds av Prof. i filosofi Hans Ruin (Södertörns högskola, Stockholm), och med Carin Franzén, professor i litteraturvetenskap (Stockholms Universitet).

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services.
