2-6 december genomför pianisten Alexander Zethson ett musikresidens i samarbete med Michell Zethson som en del av hennes forskningsprojekt om silkesspinnare. Sön den 6e december kl 19.30 redovisar de sitt arbete genom en offentlig konsert/presentation.
Under residenset kommer Alex Zethson arbeta fram ny musik för piano och synt. Alex utexaminerades år 2017 från masterprogrammet på Musikhögskolan i Stockholm efter att i två år ägnat sig åt konstnärlig fördjupning i soloformatet, ett utforskande som mynnade ut i texten och dubbel-CDn pole of inaccessibility (texten tillgänglig på Diva; skivan [THT1] på bandcamp). Om han inom ramarna för pole of inaccessibility utforskade spelsätt för att – utan prepareringar – låta pianot framträda som en ljudkälla med grumlade tonhöjder och anslag, så kommer han under föreliggande residens, med hjälp av e-bows och syntar skapa en relativt anslagsfri ljudvärld där mikrotonala relationer och långsamma rörelser utforskas.
Musiken kommer vävas samman med ett pågående forskningsprojekt där Michell Zethson under ett års tid tänkt och skrivit med silkesspinnare (bombyx mori) och deras kokonger. Michells forskning tog sin början i en grekisk sidenproducerande ort, för att därefter utvecklas till en text som leder in i betydligt vidare diskussioner. Under residensveckan kommer Michell att plocka ut och vidareutveckla delar av det påbörjade arbetet, för att låta det växa fram tillsammans med Alex komposition. Tillsammans kommer de att arbeta med silkesspinnarens fem åldrar som tema, och förhoppningen är att det hela ska resultera i en skiva.
