Den danska pianisten och kompositören Kathrine Windfeld beskrivs som ett av de mest spännande namnen på den skandinaviska jazzscenen. Som Artist in Residence vid Vara Konserthus har hon fått i uppdrag att komponera helt ny musik för Bohuslän Big Band. Resultatet kan nu höras på skivan "Determination" som spelades in i Göteborg i hösten 2020.
– Musiken jag har skrivit till Bohuslän Big Band har temperament! Jag vill ge publiken något som berör hela det mänskliga känsloregistret. Från det sakrala, stillsamma och sorgliga till det expressiva och humoristiska, berättar Kathrine Windfeld. För att uppnå bästa möjliga resultat, har hon format kompositionerna efter musikernas personliga klang och spelstil.
Windfeld startade sitt eget storband, Kathrine Windfeld Big Band, 2014. Bandet har på kort tid fått internationell uppmärksamhet och uppfattas som en av Danmarks bästa och mest förnyande ensembler.
De senaste åren har Windfelds mångsidighet som musiker och personliga resulterat i en rad utmärkelser. I 2020 vann hon den mycket prestigefyllda "Rising Stars Jazz Award" i London och en turné på 7 stora europeiska festivaler. Med storbandsdebuten “Aircraft” vann hon ”New Artist of the Year” 2016 på Danish Music Awards, med ytterligare nomineringar som ”Årets kompositör” och ”Årets album”. Förutom Bohuslän Big Band har hon samarbetat med bland annat Frankfurt Radio Big Band (DE) och Espoo Big Band (FI)

Bullret Jazzklubb är en klubb i Malmö med fokus på högkvalitativa konsertupplevelser och god atmosfär. Premiären skedde våren 2014 och vi har nu etablerat oss som en god representant för den svenska jazzscenen.
Bullret Jazzklubb drivs i samarbete med Malmö stad, Musik i Syd, Kulturrådet via Svensk Jazz, Malmö Live Konserthus och Inkonst
