Devon Gilfillians musik är nästan en egen genre. Han har lärt av soulmästare som Al Green och Ray Charles men även influerats av classic rock, blues, nutida r&b och mycket annat. Det är melodiöst och funky, rotat i tradition och framåtblickande på samma gång. Devon Gilfillian är en artist med klass och integritet och spås en lysande framtid.
Devon Gilfillian växte upp i en musikalisk familj och har sjungit så länge han kan minnas.När han var 14 tog han upp elgitarren och gjorde en djupdykning i musikhistorien. Han lyssnade och lärde...classic rock, soul, r&b och blues. Han absorberade och processade och hämtade inspiration lite här och där. Musiken som kom ut är swampy och funky och har en fot i traditionen. Men han är definitivt ingen retro wannabe. Devon Gilfillian är här och nu, det kan man inte ta miste på
Gilfillian flyttade till Nashville och 2016 kom hans första EP. Året därpå signades han av Capitol Records och hittills har det blivit några utsökta singlar, nu senast jullåten "Winter Wonderland". Under året som gått har han turnerat och jobbat i studion. Dessutom har han varit djupt engagerad i det amerikanska valet och kampanjen Truth Is Not An Option
Man behöver inte vara någon större siare för att gissa att 2019 är året då det kommer att explodera för Devon Gilfillian. Alla tecken tyder på att grabben kom att bli något stort! Så låt oss glädjas åt chansen att se och höra honom på Droskan. Vi ses!
Devon Gilfillian is one of the most exciting young artists in Nashville's burgeoning soul scene, and he's made his mark nationally, too, with songs from his 2016 self-titled debut EP.
