Vincent Neil Emerson hyllar, vårdar och förnyar Texas singer/songwriter-tradition. Han axlar arvet efter hjältar som Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, och Steve Earle samtidigt som han skapar något alldeles nytt och eget.
Hans debutalbum "Fried Chicken and Evil Women" från 2019 visade att han studerat och lärt sig hantverket av mästarna, men på 2021 års kritikerrosade uppföljare "Vincent Neil Emerson" tog han steget fullt ut och framstår som en av vår tids stora sångpoeter och berättare. Nya plattan är producerad av ingen mindre än Rodney Crowell och knyter på ett elegant sätt ihop släktband i rakt nedstigande led från redan nämnda Clark och van Zandt.
