En salong fylld med traumanDen lilla frisörsalongen i Matongé, kvarteren i Bryssels centrum där många afrikaner har bottsen 60-talet, fylls sakta med kunder och samtal. Men diskussionerna handlar om allt annat änbara skönhet och hårvård. Här diskuteras flykt över medelhavet och hur man kan hanka sigfram genom Europas baksida, släktskap och ensamhet, integrationspolitik och maktrelationer imöten med Belgiska män. Inget ämne är tabu. Sabine, som äger salongen, har själv kämpat sigfram till Europa via Libanon och Grekland, och är ändlöst frustrerad över att ingen hemma iKamerun förstår hennes kamp och den överväldigande skräcken över att kanske bli tagen avpolisen och deporterad.Den kamerunska dokumentärfilmaren Rosine Mbakam är känd för sina inkännande, hudnäraporträtt av kvinnors liv. Här utspelar sig hela filmen i frisörsalongen, ett litet klaustrofobisktutrymme i köpcentret med stora fönster som ett akvarium, en existens som är lika mycket införöppen ridå som privat och fylld med traumatiska hemligheter.
