Macedonian-Swedish classically trained clarinetist Blagoj Lamnjov ( Blago J on spotify and all streaming platforms) pushes the boundaries of the clarinet, blending the Macedonian folk music with the sensibility of the western classical clarinet sound. Influenced by many musical genres, Blagoj's music style delivers a full-of-emotions concert experience, a closer look at the clarinet as an instrument, as well as a more familiar image of the Balkans and Macedonia, creating a bridge between the old and the modern world.
Based in Malmö, Sweden, he often works at Malmö Opera (usually a few months per year since 2014). Other cultural institutions where Blagoj has worked include: Stockholm City Theater, Lund University, Gothenburg University, Cirkus Cirkör, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, The New Music School (Chicago).
Blagoj holds a Bachelor's degree in classical music performance from the Lund's University - Malmö Academy of Music in Sweden, and a Performance Diploma from the Chicago College of Performing Arts - Roosevelt University, in the USA. He studied for one year at DePaul University in Chicago and one year at Michigan State University as well.
His curiosity, free-spirited mind, strong desire to travel and study have shaped him into a down-to-earth cosmopolitan personality who is aware of his unique musical abilities.
The second album, Nostalgic Love 2 will be released on November 1, 2024.
