SEASON FINALE for Jazz@Park Lane - The newest and coolest jazz venue in Göteborg! Right at the cultural ground zero at Götaplatsen beside the city theater, museum, concert hall et c on Kungsportsavenyn 38. The famous night club "Park Lane" in collaboration with Wauxhall Jazz and Göteborg Jazz Orchestra sets a new standard for jazz in Göteborg.

We are very happy to give you, the audience, a sneak peak at our big project – “A letter to Eje Thelin” where we revive the music of this trombone legend. Later in June we will do a recording with the trombone legend of our time (and Ejes friend and pupil) - Nisse Landgren – but you can get a feel for the music live already the 3rd of June at Jazz@Park Lane. This time with the fantastic Lisa Bodelius as a soloist!

EJE THELIN (1938-1990) was one of Swedish Jazz greatest and internationally best known musicians. A virtuoso trombonist and innovative composer and band leader. A large part of his time he spent touring playing with Europe:s finest musicians and festivals. Regretfully he passed away too early but inspired and influences the jazz scene – such as Nisse Landgren. Eje:s last composition, the suite “Raggruppamento” was live recorded by Radiojazzgruppen 1989 (with Nisse in the trombone section) but since Eje was too ill to play all his parts was played by the guitarist Göran Klinghagen. GJO will now record that suite again but now as intended with trombone as feature and Nisse acting as Eje.

LISA BODELIUS – trombonist, composer, band leader with a great love for big bands. She “unites great musicality with a control of her instrument on the highest level” as one of the many scholarships and awards uses as a motivation text. Winner of the “Alice Babs award" and the “Monica Zetterlund award" to mention a few. Lisa has been a member of Bohuslän Big Band, Elaria Orchestra, Norrbotten Big Band, Visby Storband, Stockholm Jazz Orchestra and of course her own Lisa Bodelius Quartet. We are very happy to welcome her as a guest to Göteborg Jazz Orchestra.

GÖTEBORG JAZZ ORCHESTRA is one of the most exciting movements in Swedish jazz. The big band has made a rocket career and in a short time established on the highest level. In their love to music they always look for new expressions and they attract collaborations with the best musicians - domestic and abroad. They often reach over the genre barriers with new formats.
