Description
Learn to use watercolours and additional techniques for your illustrations.
Everyone is welcome to join our watercolour illustration group that includes all levels.
You will initially be introduced to the use of watercolour with exercises in order to improve different skills. When you feel ready you can start drawing and painting your own illustrations under the teacher’s guidance and advice. You can experiment with different styles, techniques and materials.
The watercolour illustration course takes place every weekend, mainly on Sundays, but sometimes also on Saturdays, depending on the availability of the Gallery.
Join our friendly art lovers group and spend your Sundays afternoons illustrating together with chats, tea and biscuits.
Content:
- Theory of colours with practical exercises that will help you to create your own colour palette.
- We will choose a picture to reproduce as an illustration, learning about perspective, anatomy and composition.
- Exercises: Based on your personal level I will suggest different exercises to improve your drawing and painting skills.
- experimentation with different types of paper and different types of watercolour and techniques.
Teacher: I am Chiara Pignotti, an Italian artist and jewellery maker based in Gothenburg. I have a PhD in Art, production and Research at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain.
In addition to my artistic commitments, I also work as an art teacher conducting courses and workshops at Lerverk Gallery, Studiefrämjandet, Folkuniversitetet and online with Nirmal Art Academy.

Leverk Gallery is in the city centre, in the fantastic courtyard of Kronhuset.
You can easily reach it with the many trams and buses that stop at Brunnsparken. From the central station it is a 10 minute walk.
Requirements:
No previous knowledge required.
Materials:
Materials are included for the first day.
When you book the course you will receive a more detailed list of basic materials I suggest you to buy. To start illustrating you don’t need much: 300gr cotton water colour paper, 1 round brush, 1 ink pen and 5/6 watercolour will be enough!
Workshops and follow up course:
Illustration is a world of various techniques and materials that will help you give a different character to your work.
We can experiment with watercolour and other techniques such as monotipe, grafite, printing etc.
In this way we will have different experiences that will lead us to chose the technique and stile that we like the most.
We can also learn how to digitalise our illustrations using Photoshop.
Cost:
350 SEK one day or 4 meetings package at 1100kr, that can be used within 3 months. Fika included.

I have not received my Watercolour Illustration course ticket via email. What should I do?
The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your Watercolour Illustration course tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you.
