Denis Diderot (1713-1784) var en av de främsta franska upplysningsfilosoferna, ansvarig för bland annat den banbrytande stora Encyklopedin. Dialoger och motstridigheter var hans kännemärke - inte minst i den säregna ”Rameaus brorson”, ett både teatralt och filosofiskt möte mellan en totalt principlös, riskabel person och en försiktig och ansvarsfull borgare. En kraftmätning för vår tid?
