I denna spännande berättelse möter vi Dorotea och hennes hund Toto som hamnar i en tornado och blåser iväg till Regnbågslandet. Hennes enda chans att ta sig hem igen är att hitta den store och magiska Trollkarlen OZ.
På vägen till trollkarlen möter hon ett fegt lejon, en plåtgubbe med trasigt hjärta och en fågelskrämma utan hjärna. Dessa fyra får tillsammans uppleva ett spännande äventyr där de möter både snälla och elaka häxor samt en mängd andra figurer.
