Longing for My Homeland
I ett nytt projekt, av och med Trio Samara, involveras ytterligare två musiker från Palestina och en från Sverige. Mötet har gett upphov till ny musik och sextetten gjort en turné i Mellanöstern. Första konserten i Sverige blir under Planeta Festival i november.
Passionen för den traditionella folkmusiken är den gemensamma utgångspunkten när den nybildade gruppen skriver ny musik och poesi. Mötet mellan de olika traditionerna, konsten och kulturen visar hur en gemensam värld är möjlig. Med nya kompositioner möts musikerna i sin längtan efter ett hemland. Ett hemland som rymmer alla former av kulturella skillnader och uttryck.
Trio
Samara har funnits i tio år och har, med sin blandning av orientalisk
och nordisk musik, en trogen publik. Genom att bjuda in Sanaa Moussa
(sång) och Youssef Hbeisch (slagverk) från Palestina och Larisa
Ljungkrona (dragspel) från Sverige har det nu skapats en bredare
musikalisk plattform. Trion har i detta projekt blivit en sextett.
