The Shivas har kallats "det hårdast arbetande bandet i showbusiness". Även om det är omöjligt att mäta, är det inte långt ifrån sanningen. Sedan deras ödmjuka början som bästa vänner i high school för nästan två decennier sedan (bandet bildades 2006) har de slitit sig igenom turné efter turné - de har besökt över 25 länder - och album efter album - detta är deras 10:e LP. Deras sound har alltid utvecklats i takt med att de har vuxit och arbetat med olika skivbolag och producenter, men det har alltid varit troget den psykedeliska vision som dessa barn hade för många år sedan i början.
De säger att deras nya album Can't Stop Coming Around (Tender Loving Empire Records) är deras favorit, och representerar deras sound bäst av alla i deras diskografi. Det är logiskt med tanke på att de spelade in den själva i sin hemmastudio "FFF" i Portland, Oregon. Tillsammans med Collin Hegna (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Federale - någon som bandet har arbetat med till och från sedan 2010) säger de att detta är det närmaste de någonsin har kommit att träffa bullseye i studion. Nu när Can't Stop Coming Around är planerad att släppas i sommar kommer bandet att ge sig ut på turné i Europa (en i juni och en i september) och sedan i USA där de besöker västkusten i juli och augusti och östkusten senare i höst.
Som en grupp som alltid har försökt leda med ärlighet och att skaka av sig alla anspråk på pretentioner, har The Shivas kommit till sin rätt. De vet vilka de är och här visar de oss tydligt att de inte kommer att sakta ner i första taget.
