Under januari 2018, genomför the Gustavus Wind Orchestra tillsammans med sin chefsdirigent James Patrick Miller en vinterturné i flera nordiska städer.
Under senare delen av januari besöker orkestern Kungliga Musikhögskolan i Stockholm (27 januari), Universitetshusets aula, Uppsala universitet (28 januari), Kulturhuset tio14 i Falun (29 januari) och Domkyrkan i Karlstad (31 januari). Orkestern fortsätter sedan till Norge för att ge två konserter i de historiska kyrkorna Sofienberg Kirke i Oslo och Johanneskirken i Bergen. Tema för konsertturnén i Sverige och Norge är: ”Barnen - vårt framtidshopp”
Gustavus blåsorkester, grundad 1878, är officiell blåsorkester för musikfakulteten vid Gustavus Adolphus universitetet i Minnesota, USA. Universitet har svensk-lutherska rötter och orkestern utmärker sig som Amerikas äldsta verksamma blåsorkester väster om Mississippifloden. Som förvaltare av akademiska traditioner under mer än 135 år är blåsorkestern universitetets främsta ambassadör för yrkesskicklighet, tjänande, rättvisa, tro och samhällsengagemang
