Under några dagar i mörka januari förvandlas Tensta konsthall till ett vibrerande dansgolv i regi av konstgruppen Ful.
Vi har äran att visa den interaktiva föreställningen Baba Karam - genom Jamileh och Khordadian som är baserad på den persiska dansstilen baba karam och blandar persisk, kurdisk och arabisk musik till en hybridisk dans med inslag av disco och dansklass med queera element av drag. Showen är en medryckande och ösig dansfilm, där du som besökare i skydd av mörker, får dansa loss i enkel och rolig koreografi som varvas med minnen och intervjuer.
Jamileh är artistnamn för Fatemeh Sadeghi, av en Irans mest populära artist genom tiderna som populariserade magdansen. I samband med iranska revolutionen och Ayatollah Khomeinis maktövertagande, blev dans förbjudet och hon flydde till Los Angeles, där hon fortsatt att uppträda, främst för en exiliransk publik.
Mohammad Khordadian är koreograf och artist vars dansvideos blivit enormt populära i Iran. För den stora iranska allmänheten blev han känd över en natt 2006 då han under en TV-show kom ut öppet med sin homosexualitet. I samband med iranska revolutionen 1979 flydde han till Los Angeles och började spela in dansinstruktioner på videoband som spreds genom privata nätverk i hans hemland, där dans blivit förbjudet.
