STUCK ON - Theo Lawrence
Theo Lawrence musik är en fest för all som älskar jordig, okomplicerad pop med djupa rötter i den amerikanska myllan. Här finns inslag av soul, country, swamp pop, rock 'n' roll, blues och tex-mex. Om man vill ägna sig åt namedropping så dyker namn som Doug Sahm & Sir Douglas Quintet, Creedence Clearwater Revival och The Mavericks upp. Och i roots- och americana-kretsar är det kanske inte direkt oväntade referenspunkter, men lite anmärkningsvärt är det ändå när det visar sig att Theo Lawrence är en ung fransk-kanadensisk sångare och låtskrivare från utkanterna av Paris! Men mest anmärkningsvärt är nog ändå att "Sauce Piquante" och inte för en sekund känns som nostalgisk retro eller bakåtsträvande. Lawrence har en förmåga att ta de goda influenserna, addera dem till sitt eget briljanta låtskriveri och resultatet blir en sorts rot-pop, i högsta grad relevant här och nu!
Hemma i Frankrike är Theo Lawrence på god väg att bli en stjärna och nu är det dags för publiken i Norden att upptäcka denna förbluffande mogna sångare och låtskrivare. En gyllene chans till det blir det när Theo med band turnerar i Skandinavien hösten 2020. C'est si bon!
