Träden finns överallt, men ses med så olika ögon. Ibland med den stolta mödans blick, ibland som ren ögonfröjd. Historikern och författaren Gunnar Wetterberg strosar mellan verken i Träden står ljust gröna och funderar över vad de har att säga om vem som ser vad i skogen, då och nu, i Sverige och på andra håll.
Gunnar Wetterberg föddes 1953 i Malmö och är historiker och diplomat, med ett förflutet inom bland annat UD och Finansdepartementet. Han har skrivit om Axel Oxenstierna, Riksbanken och Skånes historia. Till julen 2018 gav han ut Träd. En vandring i den svenska skogen (Bonniers), som fångar samspelet mellan människan och skogen då, nu och i framtiden.
