Sofar Sounds 1 Year anniversary special!
We can scarcely believe that on the 25th of October we will mark 1 year of Sofar shows in Gothenburg! Since the autumn of 2017 we have organised over 20 unforgettable shows dotted around in beautiful and intimate locations over this great city!
To celebrate our 1-year birthday, we are having a special show, with special artists in a special location! For this show we have decided to donate all proceeds to Röda Korsets Kompisgruppen!
IMPORTANT! All the proceeds from this will go to Röda Korsets Kompisgruppen.
The venue:
The venue will be a in the main hall of the fantastic, Röda Sten Konsthall. The building is a 1940’s boiler house which burnt woodchip and coal for the nearby industries. Since the 70’s it has been the location for many illegal raves, and since the 90’s it was converted to a contemporary art gallery.
The concert will take place in and amongst their current exhibition ‘INGEN RÖK UTAN ELD. SHOUT FIRE!’ (no smoke without fire. Shout Fire!).

Röda Korsets Kompisgruppen:
Röda Korsets Kompisgruppen help unaccompanied refugee minors to have some fun in their spare time. Many live in temporary accommodation and many are waiting to know if they will stay in Sweden or not. Some are waiting to move to another accommodation and being a member of the group can make the wait a bit easier. We have found that as Sofar has brought people together from different cultures because of their love for music, we thought it fitting to give to a charity working on helping young people come together and enjoy themselves regardless of whether they have the security from the state or their own guardians
