Många anser att Israels svar på Hamas brutala terrorattack och gisslantagande av israeler och andra den 7 oktober är oproportionerligt. Dödandet, lidandet, den materiella förstörelsen och den humanitära katastrofen har nått en fruktansvärd omfattning.
Israels premiärminister Netanyahu har sagt att de israeliska krigsoperationerna ska fortsätta ytterligare flera månader. FNs säkerhetsråd har inte förmått att kräva vapenstillestånd på grund av USAs motstånd. Palestiniernas mänskliga rättigheter får inte tillräckligt erkännande.
Risken är stor att att kriget sprider sig till andra delar av Mellanöstern och globalt.
