David Esser, a Berlin-based sound artist and composer, presents Stelis, a continuation of his 2023 radio installation on Radio Cashmere in Berlin, now further developed for SKAIV in Stockholm.The project takes inspiration from the symbiotic processes found in nature,exploring how these can inform and influence our relationship with modern and future technologies. Esser sees technology not as an isolated tool, but as a collaborative and evolving system that mirrors the interconnectedness of natural ecosystems. In Stelis, electromagnetic recordings from trees and radiowaves are integrated into a multimedia composition, reflecting the interplay between organic and technological worlds. Through this work, Esser invites a rethinking of technology as a medium for symbiosis, exchange, and collaboration, inspired by the complexity and harmony of natural systems.
