Dramatikern, regissören och singer songwritern Sean Nicholas Savage har återgått till en pop-palett med sin mest lysande samling klassiska ballader hittills. Hans nya album ”The Knowing” är en omsvängning; på en gång mer subversivt och samtidigt mer modernt än någonsin tidigare.
Savage har anlitat flera samarbetspartners på den här skivan. Den mångårige medhjälparen Pascal Chenard spelade in och producerade skivan tillsammans med Savage i London, England, där Savage föddes. Första singeln, ”Your Drug”, en reflekterande duett med Marci från Arbutus Records, är både välbekant och har samtidigt en nervig nakenhet som gör att den kan rekontextualisera sin nostalgiska trope. Den belgiske singer songwritern David Numwami spelade gitarr på låtarna ”Stranger Than Fiction” och ”Wild Things” och artisten JJ Weihl aka Discovery Zone var med och skrev ”Pink Bouquet”.
På ett smart sätt har en ömsint cover av Iggy Pops ”Lust For Life” smugits in i låtlistan, på något lämpligt sätt med mjuka strummor i stil med Green Days ”Good Riddance”. Sean Nicholas Savage arbetade med Lulannie för bilderna till albumets omslag, som de tog på väg ut till en nyårsafton 2025-fest i New York City. Låten ”I Love Everything About You” handlar om deras förhållande.
Sean Nicholas Savages ”The Knowing” är ute den 27 juni 2025 via Born Losers Records och Mansions & Millions.
