Rome Is Not A Town föddes för ungefär två år sedan. Bandmedlemmarna som har sin historia från många olika delar av Göteborgs musikliv kände alla suget efter mer musikaliskt stök, skrän och kaos.
Bandnamnet då? Är Rom verkligen en stad? Vem bryr sig? Enligt bandmedlemmarna själva så har det blivit en del djupa diskussioner kring ämnet men framförallt har de själva fått det förklarat för sig från personer som vet precis hur det ligger till; att Rom verkligen inte är en stad, det är mycket större, det är ett koncept och ett näste.
Bandet verkar uppskatta förklaringarna dom fått runt sitt bandnamn och det är väl ungefär den känslan en får utav bandet när en ser dom live, det är något mer och något annat, inget vanligt rockband.
Musikaliskt och uttrycksmässigt har Rome Is Not A Town influenser av artister och band som t ex PJ Harvey, Sonic Youth, Savages, Sleater Kinney, Division of Laura Lee, Nirvana, DIIV, Placebo, allt i en härligt kaosig röra.
