Äntligen lite baktakt på Roots där vi får besök utav Marx Gallo, Papa Dee & The Hilltown Syndicate som kommer bjuda på en maxad afton.
Vi säljer biljetter på Billetto där endast 130 dansanta själar komemr in.
Veteranen Papa Dee behöver kanske ingen närmare presentation. Pionjär inom svensk hiphop, funk och reggae med ett förflutet i bl.a. Stonefunkers och Brooklyn Funk Essentials. Även om hans musik rört sig mellan olika genrer genom åren så är det alltid reggaen som har legat i grunden och också den som han alltid återvänder till.
Papa Dee gjorde sina första liveframträdanden i mitten av 1980-talet som toastare i Göteborgsbandet Sockerbeat och dess efterföljare Beat About the Bush, bland annat på deras singel Galloping Gourmet/Undo 1986. Redan tidigare hade han DJ-at och toastat på flera av de årliga "Bob Marley Tribute"-spelningar/sound systems som reggaeprofilen Ras Jhoe brukade arrangera i Göteborg.

Marx Gallo är en nygammal röst inom svenska reggaescenen. Kevin Acuña aka Marx Gallo uppväxt i Skärblacka har varit frontman i band som Drama Roots och Kidz of Babylon. De senaste åren har han gjort en satsning internationellt och fått möjligheten att jobba med många stora namn så som Max Romeo, Sly Dunbar, Kenyatta Hill, Nambo Robinson, Chris Meredith och Janne Baah från Kalle Baah.
Debutplattan “Salt & Sweet” spelades in i Sly Dunbars One pop studio med Sly som medproducent 2015. 2016 släpptes en singel “Tivoli Garden” med Max Romeo samt omtyckta Likkle by Likkle och i år kom nya singeln Bandwagoner inspelad i Red Hut Skärblacka.
Nu arbetas det för fullt med en ny platta tillsammans med bandet Hilltown Syndicate, Red Hut Dub band och Janne Baah som medproducenter, En singel väntas i höst/vinter.
