”Nu ska vi fira”, skrek Pippi, när hon kom på fötter igen. ”Nu ska vi fira, så det brakar i hela Villa Villekulla.” I höst är det 75 år sedan den första boken om Pippi Långstrump gavs ut i Sverige. Under dessa år har böckerna om henne getts ut i alla världsdelar och översatts till 77 språk. Ebba Witt Brattström reflekterar över Pippis betydelse för generationer av flickor och att hon fortfarande efter 75 år framstår som en rebell. Ebba Witt-Brattström är författare och professor i nordisk litteratur vid Helsingfors universitet. Hon är flerfaldigt belönad, senast med Expressens Björn Nilsson-pris samt Mårbackapriset. Hon är också varit med i det vinnande laget i tv-programmet Kulturfrågan Kontrapunkt.
