Pink Milk är ett mörkt rockband dränkt i tonvis av reverb som gör ockult filmisk musik inspirerad av åttiotalet.
Duon bestående av Maria (sång och trummor) och Edward (gitarr och bas) startade sin karriär 2015 med en hyllad tolkning av 80-talsklassikern ”I Want to Know What Love is”, följt av egna singeln ”Detroit” som omedelbart uppmärksammades för sin originalitet och extrema ljudbild.
När debutalbumet Purple slog ned som en bomb 2017 befäste Pink Milk sin plats som ett av de mest intressanta banden inom shoegaze och mörk alternativ rock. Skivan fick högsta betyg i GAFFA som kallade den ”en dånande uppvisning i alternativ rockmusik” och ”den bästa skivan som släppts på många år” medan brittiska The Indiependent kallade skivan ”one of the most consistently great post-punk albums of the year”. Pink Milk blev också nominerat till P3 Guld i kategorin rock/metal och GAFFA-priset för Årets Album och Årets Genombrott. Dessutom blev bandet inbjudna till att spela på kreddiga festivalen SXSW i Austin.
Purple följdes av några års turnerande i Sverige, Danmark, Norge, Island, England och Tyskland där bandet tog med sin atmosfäriska ljudbild till ställen som Iceland Airwaves, Reeperbahnfestivalen, Øyafestivalen, Peace and Love, Trästockfestivalen, Umeå Open och Subkultfestivalen. Därefter var duon redo att släppa sin andra skiva Ultraviolet (2021) som fick ett varmt mottagande av både kritiker och publik. Brittiska The Line of Best Fit gav skivan 7/10 och kallade skivan ”an embracing modern day gothic shoegaze treat”, och HYMN gav skivan 8/10 och beskrev Ultraviolet som ”ljudbilder som ingen kan värja sig emot. Ultra-bra och träffar rakt i hjärtat.”
2022 turnerade bandet i Paris, Norge och Sverige där de avrundade året med ett fullsatt gig på Viva Sounds i Göteborg, och nu jobbar Pink Milk på sitt tredje album som väntas släppas våren 2024.
