Hur skulle det låta om pianostycken av 1900-talskompositörer som Lili Boulanger, Ruth Crawford och Amy Beach hade skrivits i dag, för improvisationsmusiker i en skandinavisk jazzkontext? Den frågan utgjorde startskottet för en serie musikaliska utforskningar under ledning av pianisten och kompositören Peter Knudsen, musik som nu förevigats på albumet Reimaginations. I blandade sättningar vrider och vänder musikerna på de klassiska pianostyckena på ett sätt som ibland låter nära original-musiken, ibland i ett gränsland mellan det improviserade och det komponerade, ibland som något helt nytt. Resultatet – ett unikt möte mellan dåtid och nutid.
