Sorgearbete är en audiovisuell performance-version av verket med samma namn, i vilket Byrne bland annat live framför den musik hon komponerat till verket. Startpunkten för verket var möten med en grupp konstnärer och kulturarbetare vars mammor gått bort, en grupp som Byrne själv satt samman. Tillsammans har gruppen samtalat om hur sorg känns och hur man lever med den.
Nadine Byrne är född 1985 och hennes konstnärliga praktik spänner över medium som ljud, film, skulptur, text och performance. I sina verk utforskar hon de abstrakta sidorna av människans existens som transcendens, förlust, minne, dröm och ritual. Hennes arbete baseras ofta på ett behov av att konceptualisera händelser ur sitt eget liv samt på en fascination för visuella och sociala manifestationer av alternativa verklighetskonstruktioner.
