Vare sig Joakim Milder eller Norrbotten Big Band hör till dem som skyr ovanliga musikaliska möten. Den här gången kan det oväntade musikaliska mötet kanske skyllas på Joakim Milders studenter på Kungl. Musikhögskolan i Stockholm där han har en professur i improvisation och ensemblespel. Det var de som tipsade honom om Los Angelesduon KNOWER bestående av trummisen Louis Cole och sångerskan Genevieve Artadi och som just nu reser världen runt som förband åt gruppen Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Det Joakim Milder fann var musik med stor spännvidd och variation – allt från det utåtriktade och energiska, till det sparsmakade, lyriskt vackra. Ganska snart började han tänka på ett musikaliskt möte mellan KNOWER och Norrbotten Big Band. Ett aktivt möte där ingenting översätts bokstavligen utan där musiken skapas genom samarbete, nyskrivna arrangemang och låtar.
Efter konsert på Fasching måndag 25 september får vi en öppen clinic på Kungl. Musikhögskolan.
