Återigen talas det om ”ett ödesval för Europa”, denna gång i Nederländerna mars 2017. Det populistiska ”frihetspartiet” PVV under ledning av Geert Wilders är enligt opinionsundersökningar landets största parti. PVV är starkt invandringskritiskt och EU-fientligt. Det socialdemokratiska partiet i koalition med det högerliberala partiet VVD är kraftigt försvagat.
Varför är de högerextrema krafterna och EU-motståndet så starkt i välmående Nederländerna? Det är centrala frågor för samtalet. Utgången i det stundande valet kan alltså få stor betydelse för hela Europa.
