Nils-Erik Sparf tog solistdiplomexamen med jetong vid Kungliga Musikhögskolan i Stockholm 1971. Efter fortsatta studier vid Pragakademien var han under 1970-talet konsertmästare i Kungliga Hovkapellet. Därefter har han varit konsertmästare i Kgl Filharmoniska Orkestern i Stockholm under flera år samt i Uppsala Kammarsolister och Uppsala Kammarorkester, där han fortfarande har sin tjänst. Han är även primarie i Drottningholms Barockensemble.
Nils-Erik Sparf är verksam som solist och kammarmusiker över hela världen och finns representerad på ett stort antal inspelningar. Han har erhållit flera utmärkelser, som Expressens musikpris Spelmannen, medaljen Pro Musica Antiqua och Hugo Alfvén-priset. Sedan 1992 är han ledamot av Kgl Musikaliska Akademien.
I januari 2004 erhöll Nils-Erik Sparf medaljen ”Litteris et Artibus” av kung Carl XVI Gustaf och 2013 Kungliga Musikaliska Akademiens Interpretpris.
Matti Andersson har sedan början på 1980-talet jobbat med utbildning och fortbildning i musik på bl.a. Kungliga Musikhögskolan i Stockholm och ofta anlitats som konsult och föredragshållare på olika musikinstitutioner runt om i Sverige. Han är utbildad musiklärare och musiker vid musikhögskolorna i Göteborg och Stockholm. Musikerutbildningen avslutades vt 2014 med en Konstnärlig Masterexamen i musik med inriktning på accordeon.
Matti har även tidigare turnerat med violinisten Nils-Erik Sparf, varit medlem i Lars Hollmers konstellation Utsikter i sex år samt varit solist i flera olika sammanhang, bl.a. med storbandet Uppsala University Jazz Orchestra. Han har också hållit många solokonserter.
Matti har varit förstelärare legitimerad i musik och matematik på Lundellska skolan i Uppsala där han 2002 startade Skrapans Musikklass.
