Utställningen "...memory of the past mirrored as the future…” på Galleri Konstepidemin är Håkan Stergos Machlis tredje separatutställning. Utställningen omfattar en rumslig gestaltning av gallerirummet som tillsammans med platsspecifika installationer öppnar upp för en utvidgad scenografi.
Utställningens tematik berör ämnen som subversiv sexualitet och subkulturell tillhörighet genom en reflektion över materiell symbolik. Sett genom detta prisma skapar Håkan Stergos Machlis en omslutande installation där referenser till space age-estetik, kaos och mörk techno samspelar med ett utforskande av tid. En parallell kan dras till 1980-talets technoscen i Detroit där musik och sci-fi presenterade en alternativ verklighet till Motor Citys industriella kollaps.
Fredag den 13 maj 21:00-24:00 hålls en preview på Galleri Konstepidemin då den Stockholmsbaserade DJ-duon Ingrid Kempe & Sofi Pousette kommer att framföra ett set inspirerat av utställningens tematik. Preview tar formen av en fest då videoverket XXX visas under kvällen. Eventet är en samproduktion mellan konstnären och Solförmörkelser.
