LULU IS BACK IN TOWN BAND
Luciana Sousa är född och uppvuxen i Brasiliens med dess rika kultur där dans och sång går hand i hand. Rytmens påtagliga närvaro bidrar till Lucianas starka karisma och hon har ett poetiskt uttryck i sin röst som kommer direkt från hjärtat. Hon är en ny röst inom Jazz, Bossa Nova och Blues och hämtar sina influenser från exempelvis Antonio Carlos Jobim, Astrid Gilberto, Monika Zetterlund och Sonya Hedenbratt.
John Holmström är efter att ha bott i Stockholm, Trondheim, Oslo och Tofte återigen en Göteborgsbaserad pianist.
John har släppt och medverkat på många album inom ett brett spektra av improviserad musik. Från fri improvisation till hard bop och modern jazz. Han har en öppenhet för alla sorters musik och genrer och letar influenser från många olika håll. Nyfikenheten har lett till att han under de senaste 15 åren spelat med en uppsjö av musiker från olika länder och turnerat flitigt i hela Europa och även Japan.
Yasuhito Mori, som man kanske känner igen ifrån Toots Thielemans band likaväl som Stan Getz Quartet. Han har även varit fast anställd som basist i Bohuslän Big Band i decennier och genom det arbetat med många i jazzens toppskikt
Trummisen Henrik Wartel som är en av de mest erfarna jazztrummisarna i Sverige, känd för sitt arbete med bl.a. Eje Thelin, Roland Kejser, Monica Zetterlund, Lee Konitz mfl.
Gruppen har ett sätt att skapa musik, genom enkelhet och ett organiskt och personligt ljud.
