    Who are they? Where do they come from? What should we call them? What is the role of the media? How are Muslims affected? What positive efforts are being made to counteract violent extremism and radicalisation?

    ► JOAKIM MEDIN – TELLING THE STORY FROM SYRIA
    Joakim is a freelance journalist. He has spent months in war-torn Syria, often being the only Western journalist on site, and was imprisoned by the Assad regime together with IS members. Joakim stresses the importance of communication and the media’s role, and why we should keep hope.

    ► MARIE KORTAM – THE ROOTS OF RADICALISATION
    Marie is a sociologist flying from Beirut. She works at IFPO (French Institute of the Near East) and is a member of the ACSS (Arabic Council for the Social Sciences). In addition to segregation and armed conflicts, she has studied the reasons behind why people may enter radicalisation.

    ► SALAHUDDIN BARAKAT – AN IMAM'S VIEW ON EXTREMISM
    Salahuddin is a Swedish imam and Muslim theologian. Founder of the Islam Academy (Islamakademin) in Malmö, he is engaged in youth work, interfaith community-building and deradicalisation.

    • I have not received my Let's talk about ISIS/DAESH ticket via email. What should I do?

      The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your Let's talk about ISIS/DAESH tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services.
