Publiksuccén "Konsten att göra en Chilenare" bygger på mötet mellan chilenskfödda Nils Närman Svensson och Gloria Tapia.
Nils invandrade till Sverige när han var 6 månader gammal för att leva med sin svenska adoptivfamilj i Småland. Gloria invandrade vid 4 års åldern, med sin chilenska familj för att leva i exil i Stockholm.
Mötet i erfarenheterna och tankarna om hur "Du:et som skapar Jag:et” blir premissen för att kunna definiera sin tillhörighet och sin identitet.
Båda skådespelarna, som står för texten med regissören, möts kring frågan om ursprung. Pjäsen bygger på material samlat under en livstid och gestaltas genom musik och sång, i mötet mellan det vardagliga och det poetiska.
