Kinas medelklass har ökat lavinartat i de stora städerna, och liksom i andra delar av den utvecklade världen så är depressioner nu ett allt mer vanligt förekommande fenomen i den urbana befolkningen. Separationer föräldrar-barn och trauman efter kulturrevolutionens härjningar finns med som en djup fåra mellan generationer. Det finns ett stort behov av att tala om, och att förstå sig själv och sina relationer bättre.
Vi får höra om de historiska och samtida kunskaperna inom psykologi i Kina, och om den snabba utvecklingen och utbildningen av professionella som sker inom fältet.
