Herbert Blomstedt har under sin långa karriär varit chefdirigent i bl a San Francisco, Oslo och för Sveriges Radios symfonikorkester. 1999 utnämndes Blomstedt till filosofie hedersdoktor vid Göteborgs universitet. I den här konserten får vi följa med till hans ungdoms Göteborg 1940–45 och den musik han själv spelade och lyssnade till då, t ex Haydn, Beethoven och Valborg Aulin. Musiken framförs av kammarmusiker i lärarkåren: Øyvor Volle, Johanna Persson och Magnus Ricklund, samt studenter från Högskolan för scen och musik.
Organiser
Högskolan för scen och musik finns i centrala Göteborg och ingår i den Konstnärliga fakulteten vid Göteborgs universitet. Högskolans rika offentliga program sätter studenten i centrum och speglar utbildningarna i huset vid närmare 200 evenemang varje år i allt från soloframträdanden till fullskaliga sceniska produktioner. Omfattande samarbete mellan nivåer och genrer ger Högskolan för scen och musik unika möjligheter till bredd och djup.
