Fotbollstalangen Charlie har världen framför sina fötter. En toppklubb vill desperat skriva kontrakt. Framtiden tycks tydligt utstakad. Men Charlie är tyngd av svårigheter, och upplever livet som en kamp mellan viljan att leva upp till sin pappas förväntningar — som genom sin son vill förverkliga drömmen att själv vara fotbollsstjärna — och behovet att vara sig själv. Charlie upplever sig nämligen som en tjej i en pojkes kropp. Och det som håller på att ske riskerar att riva isär familjen och hota allt det som de håller kärt.
