Sopranen Johanna Wallroth trädde fram i rampljuset i samband med att hon vann första pris i den prestigefyllda Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition 2019. 2021 mottog hon det eftertraktade Birgit Nilsson-stipendiet. Som Klassiska artisten i P2 säsongerna 2022/23 och 2023/24 medverkar Johanna Wallroth i ett flertal konserter med Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester i en bred repertoar, från Alban Bergs Sju tidiga sånger med chefsdirigent Daniel Harding till Mozart-arior med Martin Fröst och Franz Schuberts Mässa Ess-dur med András Schiff.
Att säga att Johanna redan fått sitt stora genombrott på den internationella scenen är alltså verkligen ingen överdrift!
Säsongen 2023/24 innefattar bland annat även en Europaturné med Mahlers fjärde symfoni tillsammans med Klaus Mäkelä och Oslo-Filharmonien, och Mahlers åttonde symfoni i debuten med Orchestre de Paris under ledning av Daniel Harding. Med Harding och Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester har hon tidigare turnerat med Mahlers fjärde symfoni. Denna säsong debuterar hon även med DR-Symfoniorkestret i Debussys La demoiselle elué under ledning av Barbara Hannigan och gör scendebuter på både Opéra de Rouen och Glyndebourne.
Johanna Wallroth utbildade sig först till dansare på Kungliga Svenska Balettskolan, men kom senare att fokusera på röststudier och tog examen vid Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst i Wien.
Johanna Wallroth är Anders Walls Girestastipendiat 2023.
Vid sin sida under konserten har hon Peter Friis Johansson, konsertpianist och sedan 2017 musikchef i Giresta Kyrkas Musikstiftelse.
