1945 kom Elisabeth och Anna till Sverige med hjälp av Röda Korset. Här gifte de sig med svenska män, fick barn och försökte leva sina liv så gott de kunde. Evas liv började 1954 och det kom att ta många år innan hon förstod att hon alltid kommer förföljas och jagas av en historia som hon själv inte upplevt.
