Här köper du en biljett som gäller för båda konserter, du vill alltså lyssna till hela Juloratoriet. Onumrerade platser, men förköpsbiljett har plats i reserverade bänkar. Studerande betalar halva biljettpriset.
I Juloratoriet lyckades Bach förena många olika stilar och tankesätt. Det glädjefyllda och festliga står jämsides med vinterkyla och mörker. På samma sätt får evangeliets texter samsas med nyskriven och återanvänd profan musik. Han lyckades därmed på ett nästan genialt sätt göra ämnet nästan folkligt, och lätt att ta till sig.
Juloratoriet är uppdelat i sex kantater tänkta att sjungas på en kantat vardera på juldagen, annandag jul, tredjedag jul, nyårsdagen, söndagen efter nyår och trettondedagen. Bach skrev Juloratoriet 1733-34 när han var kantor i Thomaskyrkan i Leipzig.
I Skara domkyrka framförs verkets alla sex delar på en och samma dag, men uppdelat på två tillfällen. Kantaterna 1-3 framförs klockan 11.00. Kantaterna 4-6 framförs klockan 16.00. Domkyrkoorganisten Reibjörn Carlshamre kommer att leda framförandet.
Skara Oratoriekör framför verket tillsammans med instrumentalister ur Göteborg Baroque och solister med den konstnärlige och musikaliske ledaren Magnus Kjellson.
