Bakom artistnamnet Ivy Bae finns låtskrivaren och producenten Matilda Eriksson. Influerad av bland andra The Staves, Adrianne Lenker och Boygenius vill hon förmedla och fånga hjärtats alla nyanser: spänningen i den första kärleken, sorgen i att ta farväl och smärtan i att längta.
I oktober 2023 släpptes EP:n one summer in a field somewhere som reflekterar över den komplexa resan mot läkning och modet i att vara ärlig om sitt mående, både gentemot sig själv och mot andra. Musikens syfte är att fånga själva essensen av gamla minnen, där lyssnaren själv får återuppleva och fundera kring sina egna stunder av kärlek och förlust.
