Welcome to a two day introduction training in philosophical practice!
Philosophical practice is basically to” do” philosophy through dialogue. Earliest inspiration seems from Socrates (469 b.c - 399 b.c). Its more recent form was developed since the 80ies with a various methods, perspective and theories used for the practicing one on one or in communities of inquiry. Areas of application are philosophy for/with children, in healthcare, in public spaces and in organizations.
In practicing we investigates through dialogue the big mysteries in life such as meaning, value, knowledge and ethical issues.
During the weekend we will be practicing in group sessions in large and smaller groups mixed with shorter lectures.

- Investigating the concepts of listening, curiosity and courage in relation to philosophical practice
We will use/encourage the use of a log for reflections
After completion you receive a diploma of attendance from The Swedish Association for Philosophical Practice (SSFP). The course is meditating when applying for membership as practitioner. For full info on criteria for acceptance as philosophical practitioner, click here.
Prior knowledge of philosophy or philosophical practice is not required. We only request that you are willing to explore and engage in philosophical practice with us and fellow participants.

Cancellation: No refund if you cancel later than 7 days prior to course start, but you can transfer your booking to someone else if you cannot attend. The course will only start under condition there are enough attendants.
Teatchers
Lars Hammer is a practitioner who has studied at Södertörns högskola and at Høgskolen i Buskerud with the Norwegian society for philosophical practice (NSFP) . He runs philosophical cafés in Stockholm, as well as courses and workshops in philosophical practice and teach philosophy at ESS-gymnasiet in Stockholm. Lars is interested in how questions on philosophizing, spirituality, reason and responsibility can be combined and also works with philosophical practice in contexts of film, theater, and improv. Tulsa Jansson is a PhD student in ethics (social justice) at Linköping University. She has trained philosophical practice at Montclair (P4C), at the French association, at the Norwegian association, and is certified at the American association (APPA).
