Iran och Israel är svurna fiender. Motsättningen eskalerade sedan Iran 1.a oktober utsatte Israel för raketbeskjutningar efter att Israelisk militär dödat ledande företrädare för Hamas i Gaza och Hizbollah i Libanon. Därefter har ömsesidiga raketbeskjutningar skett. Frågan är nu om parterna kan följa internationella samfundets rekommendationer om återhållsamhet eller om kriget kommer att trappas upp ytterligare till storkrig i Mellanöstern och också dra in andra länder.
