Description

DSLR - Intermediate course - getting creative

  • The perfect course for those who you who own a DSLR camera and like to use your camera in either Aperture priority mode, Shutter priority mode or Full Manual mode, but feel that your success rate is hit and miss and wished you understood better when and why to use the camera in that mode for better effect.
  • You've taken the plunge and moved away from Automatic mode (congratulations) but there is still a lot of guesswork involved and in the stress of a situation, you make the wrong choices and you end up with worse rather than better pictures than you may have got using Auto.
  • You'd like to be able to see a situation and know what to do, taking the guess work out of a shot.
  • You take photos in RAW already, but for one reason or another those 100s of files you take stay on your computer, don't get processed to satisfaction and the excitement you had when taking the shots are lost in the mass of work ahead of you working with them in post-processing.

We cover the following during the course.

  1. Stopping/freezing action, best methods, blurring the action purposely.
  2. Shallow depth of field explained and demonstrated, photographing individuals or groups, isolating subjects.
  3. Sharp photos, secrets to getting sharper photos
  4. Using an external flash, both when on the camera and when off the camera, and any light modifiers that may help you soften or control the light
  5. RAW processing. Using Lightroom and Photoshop together, masking a photo, removing objects or distractions and changing the sky (Lightroom and Photoshop are available as a free 30 day trial download).

The course is done one to one either at your home or at our studio here in Huddinge.

Course lasts for approximately 4 hours with a break in between each section

Price for the course is 1200kr (including moms), paid in advance to secure your place. We then decide on the best day

20% discount on any of our photography sessions, or additional courses during the following 12 months once you have attended

For any of the classes you need to either own or have borrowed DSLR camera, memory card and suitable lens for your camera, for the flash element you will need a speedlight flash. It will be a big help to you if you have some basic understanding of Lightroom and Photoshop as this part of the course will be very intensive, so not for absolute beginners

When you enrol state the camera make, model and lens you will be bringing.

20% discount on all courses for Students if you have Student ID
