Antonia "La Singla" föddes döv i Barcelonas slumkvarter. Men trots sitt handikapp och sin fattiga bakgrund troddade hon mot alla odds och redan som 17-åring blev hyllad som världens bästa flamencodansare. Under 1960-talet var hon en internationell stjärna, men idag är hon relativt okänd.
Hur kunde en ung flicka från de fattiga kvarteren nå en sådan enorm framgång? Vad hände sedan? Vart tog hon vägen?
