Shtoltse Lider/Proud Poems
Poetry in jiddisch by female writers performed in new written music.
Shtoltse lider/Proud poems är en konsertföreställning under tillblivelse, med tonsatt jiddisch lyrik, av och med duon Ida&Louise. Premiär på Planeta Festival 1–5 november, 2017.
Ida&Louise är en symbiotisk och uttrycksfull duo som skapar stor musik med små medel. 2013 gav de ut debutskivan Vilda Vinde med originalkompositioner och året efter spelade de in en EP med traditionell klezmer och sånger på jiddisch. I Shtoltse lider/Proud poems förenar duon dessa två världar – det egna komponerandet och intresset för jiddishkultur. Duon skapar en tät, berörande samklang mellan musiken, uttrycket och poesin.
Litteraturen som musiken bygger på är hämtad från verk av Celia Dropkin, Anna Margolin, Malka Heifetz Tussman, Kadya Molodowsky och Rachel Korn; samtliga födda i Östeuropa. Celia, Anna, Malka och Kadya var verksamma i USA före andra världskriget, medan Rachel emigrerade till Kanada 1948.
Sångerna i Shtoltse lider/Proud poems, med teman som frigörelse, längtan och förbjudna begär, framförs på jiddisch och engelska. Föreställningen för övrigt – som berättar om poesin, kvinnornas öden och tiden de levde i – är på svenska.

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your Ida & Louise tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you.
