Jakob Karlberg tog hela Sverige med storm när han 2015 debuterade med låten ”Fan va bra”. Låten blev fort en av sommarens stora snackisar och har streamats över 30 miljoner gånger, legat på A-rotation på P3, sålt dubbel platina och var nominerad i kategorin “Årets låt” på Grammisgalan 2016.
23-åringen från Alingsås har varit verksam musiker under större delen av sin uppväxt, både som låtskrivare, frilansmusiker och i band. Från 2009 spelade han några år i rockabillybandet Sixten and the Cupcakes och började 2013 musikutbildningen Musikmakarna i Örnsköldsvik. 2015 uppmärksammades han av en talangscout på Sony Music via sin YouTube-kanal där Jakob Karlberg byggt upp en gedigen följarskara och där hans versioner av kända låtar setts över en miljon gånger
