Ibland undrar vi oroligt om inte alla musikvetare har fått det hela om bakfoten? Det där att countryrock är en amerikansk uppfinning. Är det inte i själva verket en kanadensisk musikform? Tja, stilen skapades kanske i USA, men ibland känns det som om kanadensiska musiker är de som bäst förvaltar den. The Band, Neil Young, Great Speckled Bird, Blue Rodeo, Cowboy Junkies… alla kommer de från Kanada. Och nu tycks det som att det finns en helt ny våg av band från Kanada som bäst kan beskrivas som countryrock.
Vi har tidigare presenterat Steel Saddle och nu är det dags för Horsebath från Montreal. Ett band som med stor kärlek och lagom dos respekt omfamnar allt från kosmisk country a la Gram Parsons till texmex-influenser som gått via Sir Douglas Quintet.Horsebaths debutalbum ”Another Farewell” släpps 7 januari och redan i månadsskiftet januari/februari gör Horsebath sitt första besök någonsin i Skandinavien.
