Genom att kombinera sin kärlek till amerikansk hardcore med Madchester-soundet och dyster postpunk har High Vis trätt fram som ett av Englands mest relevanta band just nu. Och givet alla medlemmarnas bakgrund i landets hardcore-scen, är det inte förvånande att ilska genomsyrar musiken – ilska över arbetarklassens situation, ilska över existensen. Men det är genom att låta denna vrede möta det sårbara, ibland till och med det hoppfulla, som High Vis identitet som band karvas fram. Senaste skivan, lämpligt nog döpt till ’Blending’, kom 2022 och möttes av unisona hyllningar. Nu har bandet ny musik på gång och kommer i samband med det bege sig ut på vägarna igen – missa inte High Vis på Slaktkyrkan i Stockholm den 3.
