Katthem gör vad Katthem vill – och vad de än gör regnar lovorden runt dem. När det spelas punk tar de hem Manifestgalans pris i genren. När det spelas rock’n’roll benämns de som genuina, okonstlade, och “Göteborgs enda bra band”, enligt HYMN:s Linus Kuhlin. Och när det spelas allt emellan progg och spaghetti-western-indie lyckas man kamma hem en hyllande albumrecension i Göteborgs-Posten.
Det är inte heller särskilt svårt att förstå varför de fyra multi-instrumentalisterna i Katthem lyckats vinna över så många när man hör debutalbumet Vackra Lögnerskor. Självklart finns det ett enormt underhållningsvärde i att skriva låtar som att Leif GW Persson är “Sveriges Sherlock” och att hata ett förrädiskt ex så mycket att man blir till “Hannibal Lecter”, men precis som ovan nämnda röster sagt, så är musiken både genuin och helt fantastisk. Att komma för skratten och stanna för konsten är Katthems ständiga äss i ärmen.
